Our Story

A few words from the founder..

Hi, my name is Teck Fatt and I am the founder of PoshPallet. I always have intimate relationship with wristwatches ever since I was a kid: my father bought me my first watch, a Casio F94W when I entered primary school; my sister gifted me a Timex Expedition when I graduated university; and I got myself a Garmin Vivomove to go out on my first date with a girl, who is now my wife.

It was when I got my first automatic watch, a Tissot Seastar in 2019 as a reward for obtaining a professional certificate at work, that I developed real deep interests in wristwatches.

Looking at the exhibition case back, I am fascinated by how each small, delicate metal part works harmoniously to create what we call the measurement of time.

The ticking sound coming off the pallet fork when it clicks against the escape wheel, well that's a charm. It is a constant reminder of the relentless effort and craftsmanship poured in my watchmaking professionals to present the piece of engineering marvel we put on our wrists.
(hence the "Pallet" part of the brand's name)

As I acquire more pieces I started to appreciate the importance of a strap to the overall presentation of the watch. A watch on a leather strap will serve you well in a fancy dinner; swap the leather strap with a nylon strap and you are ready to take on the beach.

The problem is I can't quite find the perfect strap for my liking: the leather strap that I see from the watch shops are often too stiff and brittle (maybe they sat in the shelf for too long?), and I always have my suspicion when I see the "Genuine Leather" stamp at the under side of the strap.

Same goes for nylon watch straps. They often cause itchiness to my wrist due to poor finishing on the surface, or having bad hardware that you know you can bend with your bare fingers.

So I decided to do it myself. I sourced leather directly from tanneries and trusted sellers around the world, picked only the best pieces suitable for watch strap making, worked with my partner who is a talented and skilled crafter to design and produce our leather strap. Each strap is 100% hand-made and tremendous effort are put to make sure every part of the strap is crafted to highest quality possible.

For the nylon and elastic watch straps, I spent months and months searching for manufacturer that can produce straps to my quality standards: soft but sturdy with timeless design, reinforced edges and holes, high quality hardware and good finishing that doesn't itch the wrist even after long hours of wear.

And out comes PoshPallet. A brand that is run by watch enthusiast, for watch enthusiasts. Since the creation of the brand is driven by personal needs, I am committed to ONLY offer products that I will personally use and recommend to my friends and family.

The journey ahead is long and there is so much to learn, and I am grateful for you to be part of my journey.

Cheers,
Teck Fatt
